About This Spot

Stepping into Cameo Cafe East feels a bit like being welcomed into a cherished friend’s home — a quiet, cozy refuge where the hum of the neighborhood softly cushions your morning. The atmosphere carries a warm, lived-in charm, with touches that echo the 1970s living room vibe: a sliding glass door invites you in, setting a tone that’s both subtly nostalgic and refreshingly approachable. It’s a place where the pace slows just enough for you to settle in, savor your coffee, and soak up moments that feel genuine and unhurried.

This is a spot where American breakfast traditions meet Korean influences, seamlessly woven throughout the menu in thoughtful, comforting ways. Imagine the familiar comfort of crispy hashbrowns and eggs paired with a tangy, well-seasoned kimchi that adds a bright, unexpected lift. Homemade sauces and jams punctuate the meal with just the right amount of heat or sweetness, enhancing each bite without ever overpowering it. The menu invites exploration — from hearty plates that fill the room with savory aromas to lighter touches brewed into each cup of morning coffee.

What stands out beyond the food is the human side of the experience. The staff carry a warmth that suggests they’re truly invested in your time here — not just servers but companions on this little culinary journey. Their friendly, attentive presence makes the cafe feel less like a commercial space and more like a communal table where stories are shared and smiles are easy.

Cameo Cafe East is quietly proud, a neighborhood gem whose soul is shaped by both its flavors and the people passing through. It’s a destination for those who appreciate breakfast that surprises without pretense, paired with an environment that feels like a pause from the usual bustle. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this is a place where every visit offers a small, reassuring reminder of comfort and discovery.

delicious and adorable. an amazing place that combines american breakfast with korean! i got the korean breakfast special and LOVED it!! the ham was well seasoned, the eggs are fresh, and the kimchi was perfectly sour. the side of soy sauce added personality and the hot sauce they had available added the perfect kick. the staff was so sweet and were clearly having fun even while working!! will definitely come back :)

Okay, So you're staying at the portland airport at one of the many hotels around the airport. Forget the breakfast at the hotel. It's never the best anyways. Do yourself a favor and come out to this quaint little restaurant. You will be so happy you did.

One of the best breakfast spots I’ve ever been to. Staff was super friendly and the food was amazing. Love the variety of the menu and their homemade hot sauce and jam is delicious.

Food: It’s a cafe with American/Korean-American infused breakfast-lunch dishes. Ambience: Feels like you’re at your grandmas house. Has a unique 1970’s living room vibe. The sliding glass door entry to the restaurant is very unique. Customer service: Phenomenal! Staff were very attentive and friendly. Best part of our experience was Sue. She’s a beautiful soul with a friendly personality. She greeted, hugged us and thanked us for having visited her establishment. Only twice in my 47 years on this earth have I ever met a restaurant owner that is very loving and kind. Truly a blessing for having met her.

Great food and attentive service with a fun, friendly atmosphere. I passed by this place a dozen times and never knew it would be this good. Place like this is what makes Portland a great city to explore. Not for the by the numbers, suffocating weed shops or the dumb ass burlesque shows. Fun and cozy places with genuine personality that'll stick with you long after you leave. Try their coconut waffles, they're great with some of the best bacon I've had.

My husband and I went for the first time today. Wow, we were blown away! The food was great, but the staff was what really made it special. The owner, Sue Gee, was so warm and welcoming. She made us feel like long time customers! And the staff was fun- joking around, having a good time. If you’re looking for a reserved, prim place, this won’t be your cup of tea. We are so bummed that we don’t live in Portland anymore, or else we would be going all the time.

The building is really unique. Definitely one to remember. It was very chaotic and busy but the food was hot and delicious. 10/10 I can't wait to come back.
